Sandra Kay Scott

INDIANAPOLIS

Sandra Kay Scott, age 74, of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Aug. 29, 1942, in Indianapolis to the late Leamon and Edna Earl. Sandra graduated from T.C. Howe High School in Indianapolis. Professionally, she was a teacher’s aide for 15 years in the Perry Township Schools.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Joey, the love of her life for 47 years; son, Jeff (Megan) Scott of Indianapolis and five grandchildren, Whitney Scott, Vanessa Scott, Samuel Scott, Bridgett (Randy) Chestnut and Joey Brake, all of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Jennifer Wickersham.

Sandra was active in the Murat Shrine. She was a member of the Southport Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and was in the Hillbilly Band Unit.

Sandy and Joe loved to travel. They had many adventures all throughout the United States, Mexico, South America, Canada and Europe. They enjoyed an African safari and travels to the far East. No matter where she was, she couldn’t wait to return to her children and her grandchildren.

Sandra was a wonderful lady who had an infectious love of life. A loss to all whose lives she has touched, her passing leaves her family mourning, but grateful to her for all she gave of herself.

A visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Memorial Park.
