300-plus houses to be built by 2019

More than 300 homes are planned for two new neighborhoods in Bargersville, bringing more children to Center Grove schools and more motorists to the area’s roads.

M/I Homes purchased 90 acres on the south side of County Road 144 near Saddle Club Road and 70 acres on the north side with plans to build about 320 homes, division vice president Jerrod Klein said.

“Saddle Club’s convenient location provides area commuting ease, yet has a comfortable country and small town setting,” he said. “Bargersville is quickly becoming a very high demand area, which provides significant home value for the money.”

M/I Homes is in the middle of developing the first section of Saddle Club North, which will have 65 lots. Two model homes are under construction and will be complete in June. Several lots have already been sold, and construction on homes will begin in the next month, Klein said.

The homes in the Saddle Club neighborhoods will range from 1,900 to 3,900 square feet and will be priced between $240,000 and $395,000, he said.

The one- and two-level homes will be built in the traditional, craftsman, cottage and artisan architectural styles, Klein said. The neighborhoods will share a park with amenities including a pool, bathhouse and playground. Construction of the park will begin in 2018 and will be complete in time for the summer of 2019, he said.

Klein cited Center Grove schools as another prime attraction for families.

“Center Grove schools, recognized as one of the most desired school systems in Indiana, are a significant benefit to our homeowners,” he said.

The two neighborhoods will join several other M/I Homes projects underway in Johnson County.

M/I Homes recently completed construction of 200 homes in the Hickory Stick community just north of the Saddle Club, and is also building homes in the Harrison Crossing neighborhood near Smith Valley Road and Peterman Road, he said.

Home construction is planned to begin in the spring of 2018 in the Riley Meadows subdivision, formerly known as Cricket Ridge, which is another M/I Homes property with about 40 acres of land along the west side of Paddock Road, between Olive Branch and Smith Valley roads in White River Township.
