Trojans strike down Southport

Center Grove won in six innings against Southport, 12-2, for its fifth victory in a row. For the Trojans (9-7, 4-4 MIC), Michael Wyman led offensively with two doubles and four RBIs. Ryan Sauter and AJ Poynter had one double apiece, while Nick Coy added three RBIs. Brian Gaffney was the winning pitcher.

Grizzly Cubs top Martinsville

Franklin took down Martinsville 8-3 on Thursday. The Grizzly Cubs (6-8, 4-2 Mid-State) were led by home runs from Jerris Lee and Alec MacLennan, while Stone Peddycord came up with a double. Isaac McCullough was the winning pitcher.

Edinburgh flies past Morristown

Edinburgh defeated Morristown 16-4 in five innings on Thursday. Coltan Henderson, Tavian Cosby, and Keegan Sida led the Lancers (5-8, 2-5 Mid-Hoosier) offensively with three RBIs each. Zach Murphy finished with a double. Kyle Amel was the winning pitcher.

Lancers smash Morristown

Edinburgh pitcher Bailey Woodall shut out Morristown in a five-inning win Thursday 11-0. Sidney Beier led the Lancers on offense (11-4, 5-2 Mid-Hoosier) with a homer. Paige Burton, Emma Wade and Vanessa McManaway each doubled.

Girls tennis

Woodmen fall to Olympians

Greenwood was defeated by Columbus East 4-1 on Thursday. Molly Jacobs and Alyssa Roscoe had the lone point for the Woodmen, winning at No. 1 doubles.

Warriors defeat Hawks

Whiteland topped Decatur Central 4-1 on Thursday. The Warriors (3-7) swept singles competition with victories from Reese Johnson, Avneet Badwal, and Haley Darling. The duo of Bri Harwell and Sophie Venter took a win at No. 2 doubles.

Indian Creek falls to Martinsville

Indian Creek fell to Martinsville 4-1 on Thursday. The Braves got their lone win at No. 1 doubles courtesy of Sara Knight and McKayla Russell.

Rebels slide past Ritter

Roncalli defeated Ritter in a close match on Thursday 3-2. The Rebels advance to 8-1.

Boys golf

Braves take first

Indian Creek shot 180 to take first place against Owen Valley and South Putnam on Wednesday. Chandler Donahue shot 42 to lead the Braves in a three-way tie for medalist honors. Dakota Day and Scott Russell shot 45 each.

Rebels beat Warren Central

Roncalli shot 153 to take home a victory against Warren Central on Thursday. Evan Wray was the medalist with a 36 for the Rebels. Logan Schott shot 37.

Track & field

Franklin boys take top honors

Franklin scored 101 points to defeat both Mooresville (50) and Greencastle (12) on Thursday. The Grizzly Cubs took first in all but four events.

Simons, Subris leads Cougars

Greenwood Christian participated alongside South Putnam at Monrovia on Thursday.

For the boys, Dan Witte once again broke his school records in shot put (30 feet, 8 inches) and discus (78 feet). Mitchell Bowling placed third in the 400 and 200. Anna Simons led the girls with a first-place victory in the 400, and a second-place finish in the 200. Anna Subris won the 800 and was third in the 200.
