A new service project group in Johnson County has created a website that will help local senior citizens find resources in the county and online.
The group, Senior Superstars, from the class of 2017 Leadership Johnson County, has created the website, seniorsinjoco.com, which is also a resource for family members or caregivers.
Team members include Karen Brandon, Andy Brock, Thelma Fisher, Michelle Hawkins, Kimberly Smith, Tim Settles, Johns Spista and Daniel Stahl.
The team members had common concerns over food insecurity statistics with the elderly population, as well as scams and fraud aimed at them — all topics that seniors and their families can find help with on the site. Other tools, tips and contact information can be found for transportation and mobility, home help and more.
