Trojans down Warren Central

Center Grove defeated Warren Central on Wednesday 8-3. Chris Foote led the Trojans (8-7, 4-4 MIC) from the mound in the victory. Also for Center Grove, Bryce Eblin gathered three hits and a double, followed by Michael Wyman and AJ Poynter with two hits apiece.

Franklin tops Martinsville

Franklin came up with a 9-3 victory against Martinsville on Wednesday. Jerris Lee led the Grizzly Cubs offensively with two home runs and four RBIs. Isaac McCullough and Alec MacLennan also came up with homers for Franklin (5-8, 3-2 Mid-State) to bring home the win for pitcher Luke Miles.

Greenwood completes sweep

Jordan Martin pitched a complete game and junior T.J. Bass belted his third home run of the season to lead Greenwood past Plainfield 8-1.

Martin allowed seven hits and struck out 10 Quakers batters for the Woodmen (6-11-1, 4-6 Mid-State Conference).

Mason Stunick contributed a double for Greenwood, while seniors Dylan Rosado and Damon Maynard had two hits apiece.

Decatur shuts out Whiteland

Whiteland was defeated by Decatur Central on Wednesday 4-0. The Warriors (10-6, 4-2 Mid-State) gathered six hits in the loss. Nick Carrizales was the losing pitcher.

Braves down Brown County

Indian Creek shut out Brown County on Wednesday 16-0. Dustin Sprong led the offense for the Braves (4-5-1, 2-0 WIC) with a triple. Max Walls was the winning pitcher.

Softball

Martinsville routs Franklin

Franklin fell to Martinsville 10-4 on Wednesday. The Grizzly Cubs (3-14, 0-6 Mid-State) allowed the Artesians to score nine in the first three innings and were unable to bounce back.

Woodmen fall to Plainfield

Greenwood was routed by Plainfield 10-6 on Wednesday. Kaitlyn Heffner led the Woodmen (4-10, 1-7 Mid-State) offensively with a homer and a double.

Braves slide past Brown County

Indian Creek defeated Brown County 5-2 on Wednesday. Rachel Kyle led the Braves (5-5, 1-1 WIC) with a double to lock down the victory for pitcher Brittany Dugan.

Edinburgh flies past Irvington

Edinburgh rolled past Irvington Prep 17-1 on Wednesday. The Lancers (10-4) were led offensively by winning pitcher Madisyn Clark, who came up with a home run and two RBIs in the game. Grace Joiner and Bri Howard each added two doubles, with Howard driving in five runs.

Trojans excel against Lawrence North

Center Grove swept Lawrence North 5-0 in a MIC home match Wednesday. The Trojans (9-1) came up with singles victories from Isabella Schoolcraft, Katelyn Gray and Maddie Weeks. Cassidy Hardin and Ellie Strube took the No. 1 doubles match, while Carleigh Hardin and Emily Hoy won at No. 2.

Rebels sweep Scecina

Roncalli came out on top 5-0 against Indianapolis Scecina on Wednesday to improve to 7-1 on the season.

Boys golf

Grizzly Cubs fall to Perry Meridian

 

Franklin shot 328 to fall to Perry Meridian’s 316 on Wednesday. Grizzly Cub Javan Johnson shot 73 to take medalist honors, while Emerson Downing carded an 80.

Warriors suffer narrow setback

Whiteland came up short against Triton Central on Wednesday, 178 to 185. The Warriors (9-10) were led by Zach Ricketts, who shot 43.

Franklin College

Men’s tennis falls to Hanover

Franklin College lost to Hanover College 8-1 on Wednesday. The Grizzlies (6-7, 5-3 HCAC) got their sole point from the No.1 doubles duo of Alex Hammer and Blake Amonett.

Lacrosse team loses in OT

Franklin College women’s lacrosse team lost to Hanover College in overtime, 13-12. Lexi Ingram, Hannah Grow, and Abby Stayer each had three goals for the Grizzlies (6-5, 4-3 ORLC).
