Local music groups earn gold at ISSMA

Music groups from local high schools saw gold at weekend competitions.

The Greenwood Community High School symphonic band earned a gold rating in performance and sight reading at the Indiana State School Music Association district organization festival.

Whiteland Community High School’s concert and symphonic bands and wind ensemble all earned fold at the festival.

The placing from Whiteland earned them the ISSMA All-Music award. The award is given to schools who place or earn gold at ISSMA sanctioned events in every category. The choir’s season helped the music department clench the coveted “all department,” award.
