Carole Kay (Sims) Bentley

Carole Kay (Sims) Bentley, 79, of Franklin, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 6, 1938, in Rush County, the daughter of Fred B. and Frances D. (Addison) Sims.

On May 11, 1963, she married her husband of 53 years, Robert L. Bentley Jr., and he survives.

Carole is also survived by her son, Brian Sims Bentley; and twin grandchildren, Amber and Cody Bentley.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Carole graduated from Sandhills Community College.

She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, and served as vice president of the Sacred Heart Parrish Council in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Carole was formerly a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Indianapolis and St. Joseph’s Chapel in Greenwood.

Carole was a runway model for 38 years, modeling for L.S. Ayres. She was the wardrobe coordinator for Neiman Marcus in Dallas, Texas. Later, she retired in 2014 from the Diamond office in Franklin.

She was also a member of the Greenfield Country Club and Pinehurst Country Club.

Carole loved being an anonymous giver and activist for her beloved Constitutional Republic of America.

A gathering of friends will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St., Morristown. Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
