Trojans slide past Warriors

Center Grove came up with an 8-3 victory against Warren Central on Tuesday. Bryce Eblin, Michael Wyman and Braden Parks led the way offensively with two RBIs each for the Trojans (7-7, 3-4 MIC). Jacob Gilcrest was the winning pitcher.

Woodmen rout Plainfield

Greenwood took home a 9-2 victory against Plainfield on Tuesday. T.J. Bass led the Woodmen (5-11-1) with two home runs and four RBIs, while Dylan Rosado also had a solid night off of a double and a home run. Jackson Beckham was the winning pitcher.

Decatur Central upsets Whiteland

Whiteland was defeated, 4-1, by Decatur Central on Tuesday. The sole run for the Warriors (10-5, 4-1 Mid-State) came from a solo home run by Bailey Watson in the seventh inning. The Warriors fall to 10-5 overall.

Trojans continue rolling

Center Grove took down Warren Central, 11-0, on Tuesday. The Trojans (14-0) collected a total of 16 hits, including a Jordyn Rudd home run, while Abby Herbst hurled the shutout.

Greenwood falls to Plainfield

Greenwood was taken down by Plainfield 4-2 on Tuesday. Offensively, Kaitlyn Heffner led the Woodmen (4-8) with two RBIs. Tori Stout was the losing pitcher.

Girls tennis

Trojans top Park Tudor

Center Grove swept Park Tudor 5-0 on Tuesday. Isabella Schoolcraft, Katleyn Gray, and Maddie Weeks swept the singles points for the Trojans. Cassidy Hardin and Ellie Strube won the first doubles match, while the duo of Carleigh Hardin and Emily Hoy took the second.

Warriors edged by Artesians

Whiteland suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat against Martinsville on Monday. Both of the points for the Warriors (1-6, 1-4 Mid-State) came in doubles, with Hannah Blum and Riley Burnside winning at No. 1 and Bri Harwell and Sophie Venter prevailing in the No. 2 spot.

Roncalli slides past Whiteland

Roncalli defeated Whiteland 4-1 on Tuesday.

Emma Hess, Megan Zakrowski and Kathleen Ditton picked up singles wins for the Rebels (6-1). Abby Yohler and Grace Mappes took the No. 1 doubles match for Roncalli, while Whiteland (1-7) got its lone point from Bri Harwell and Sophie Venter at No. 2 doubles.

Indian Creek sweeps Edinburgh

Indian Creek came out on top against Edinburgh 5-0 on Tuesday. Katie Burkman, Ali Harris, and Brooke Coy all took home singles victories for the Braves. Sara Knight and McKayla Russell won at No. 1 doubles, while Mya Piccone and Mackenzie Hunter were victorious at No. 2.

Franklin takes first

Franklin shot 155 to take down both Whiteland and Mooresville on Tuesday. The Warriors were third with a score of 189. Franklin junior Javan Johnson shot 35 to take home the medalist honor. Emerson Downing (38) and Matt Jordan (39) finished second and third, respectively, for the Grizzly Cubs.

Braves defeated by Mooresville

Indian Creek came up short in a Monday match against Mooresville, falling by a 161-195 margin. Dakota Day and Hunter Meredith led the Braves with scores of 47 and 48, respectively.

Franklin boys rout Greensburg

Franklin flew past Greensburg to take a 97-35 victory on Tuesday. The Grizzly Cubs took first in all but three events in the meet.

Greenwood tops Mooresville, Decatur Central

The Greenwood boys and girls track teams defeated Mooresville and Decatur Central on Tuesday. The Woodmen boys finished with a score of 84, while the girls finished with 78.

Girls soccer

Neely signs with Grizzlies

Greenwood senior Taylor Neely, an All-County player this past season, signed a letter of intent Tuesday to play women’s soccer at Franklin College beginning in the fall.

Neely scored 14 goals and added 16 assists for the Woodmen before suffering a late-season knee injury. She finished her high school career with 50 goals and 41 assists.

Franklin College topped Hanover College 7-1 on Tuesday. Frank Podkul led the Grizzlies (19-14) with a home run and four RBIs. Pitcher Aaron Leming took home the victory.
