Chargers score late to get past Lancers

North Decatur picked up a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Edinburgh 4-3 on Monday. The game was resumed after being started last Thursday and cut off by rain.

Parker Bryant tripled and scored twice for the Lancers.

Softball

Beier, Edinburgh continue hot streak

Sidney Beier homered for the ninth time in as many games as Edinburgh outslugged North Decatur 14-5 in a game finished Monday after being cut short by rain last week.

Beier also tripled and drove in four runs for the Lancers (9-4, 4-2 Mid-Hoosier Conference), while Bri Howard knocked in three runs. Maddi Clark had three of Edinburgh’s 17 hits.

Girls tennis

Braves pull out close league win

Indian Creek edged Western Indiana Conference Owen Valley 3-2 on Monday.

Katie Burkman and Ali Harris picked up wins in the top two singles spots, and the Braves also got a point at No. 2 doubles courtesy of Mya Piccone and Mekenzie Hunter, who rebounded after losing the first set for a 2-6, 6-1, 6-1 triumph.

Rebels continue to net victories

Led by a win from No. 1 singles player Emma Hess, Roncalli topped Ben Davis on Monday 4-1 for its fifth victory in six matches this season.
