Indy man faces drug, gun charges

An adult and three juveniles were arrested after deputies said they found guns and drugs in a car in a traffic stop on Tuesday afternoon.

Martin Huerta, 21, of Indianapolis, was arrested on charges of dealing in methamphetamine, dealing in a schedule 4 controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a handgun.

Three juveniles were arrested: one on a charge of driving without a license, another for possession of methamphetamine and a third for possession of a firearm with a removed serial number, a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office report said.

A deputy stopped a car on County Line Road near Bo-Mar Drive in Greenwood about 2:45 p.m. after the deputy noticed a temporary license plate wasn’t clearly visible behind a tinted window, the report said.

Deputies searched the vehicle after a K-9 indicated the presence of drugs. They found two guns, a bag with about 30 Xanax bars and a bag with methamphetamine, the report said.

Attempts by deputies to contact parents of the juveniles weren’t successful. They were taken to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center.

Huerta, 7202 Rosehill, was arrested and taken to Johnson County jail where he was held on $14,800 bond.
