Celebrate Earth Day on Saturday with an inaugural festival celebrating nature and conservation.
The Earth Day Festival is slated for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Province Park in Franklin.
This event will include free family activities such as a tree seedling giveaway, rain barrel display, story walk, natural art projects and creek water monitoring. There will be educational programs throughout the day, including an animal discussion with Johnson County Parks & Recreation, and a bee talk with Purdue Extension Master Gardeners.
There will also be native plants for sale from EcoLogic’s nursery.
The festival is a collaboration among Johnson County Recycling District, Johnson County Partnership for Water Quality, Franklin Parks & Recreation, Johnson County Soil & Water Conservation District, Johnson County Parks & Recreation, Johnson County Purdue Extension, and Johnson County Public Library and sponsored by several local companies.
