PLAINFIELD
Eugene M. Margiotti, 85, of Plainfield, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017.
He was born Aug. 26, 1931, to the late Martin and Mary (Shultz) Margiotti. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a 50 year member of the St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield, and a 40 year member of the Screaming Eagles Radio Control Flying Club. He was a mechanical engineer for over 30 years for GM Allison Gas Turbine Plant, where he also was the plant manager.
Eugene is survived by his son, Gene (Bridget) Margiotti; three daughters, Marilyn (Bill Ridings) Margiotti, Jeanette Oberg and Carolyn (Scott Johnson) Margiotti; nine grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Margiotti.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Susanna Catholic Church, Plainfield. Entombment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
