Jacquelyn R. VanBlarcum

GREENWOOD

Jacquelyn R. VanBlarcum, 69, of Greenwood, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

She was born March 26, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Raymond and Dorothy (Powers) Gage. Jacque, as her friends and family call her, was a registered nurse for many years, receiving her masters of science of nursing in education at Indiana Wesleyan University as well as her bachelor of science in nursing. She received her associate of science degree from Marian University. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and helped with many activities there.

She was a certified parish nurse and she held a deep passion for education. She was inducted into the National Honor Society for Nursing. Jacque loved to quilt and she truly loved and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jacque married David VanBlarcum in November 1986, and he survives her along with sons, Ronald David (Amy) Franklin and Douglas Wayne (Nicole) Franklin, all of Trenton, Missouri and Phillip (Dawn) VanBlarcum of Indianapolis; daughter, Juli Davette (David) White of Indianapolis; brothers, Bill Gage of Excelsior Spring, Missouri and Bob Gage of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters, Martha Mullens and Donna Salisbury, both of Gladstone, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, William VanBlarcum; brothers, Ralph and Eddie Gage.

Funeral services will at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church, 8540 U.S. 31, Indianapolis with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.
