Gerald W. Lawson

FRANKLIN

Gerald W. Lawson, 75, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at his residence in Franklin.

He was born March 21, 1942, in Jackson County to William and Anna Elkins Lawson. He married Janet “Janie” (McCray) Lawson on July 1, 1962. She lovingly survives. Gerald also is survived by their daughter, Terri Parnell of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jaclyn Parnell of Austin, Texas and Brock Parnell of Greenwood; one sister, Annalee and husband Fred Moore of Franklin and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; sisters, Stella (Cody) East and Wanda (Dolphus) VanMeter; and brothers, Charlie (Mildred) Lawson, Earl Lawson, Harold (Lois) Lawson, Carl W. (Ruth) Lawson and Clifford (Delphia) Lawson. He also was preceded in passing by his sweet loving dog and buddy, Wiggles.

He was a 1960 graduate of Nineveh High School.

Gerald was a heavy equipment operator. He retired from Century Supplies where he worked in shipping and receiving.

Gerald’s favorite pastimes and hobbies were lawn care, hunting, vacations to the beach and spending quality time with family.

Pastor Michael Lawson, Gerald’s Nephew, will conduct a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. Monday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with calling from 11 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Nineveh Cemetery.
