Franklin teen charged with child molestation

A Franklin teen was charged with child molestation after a girl told police he had her perform sex acts on him and touch him inappropriately.

Tyler Buskirk, 19, of Franklin, was arrested on a charge of child molestation, according to a probable cause affidavit.

In June, a girl who is younger than 14 years old, told a relative that Buskirk had molested her. The relative contacted police, the report said.

She was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health for forensic evidence collection, the report said.

The girl told an officer that Buskirk had made her perform sex acts on him and touch him inappropriately on multiple occasions, the report said.

In an interview with police, Buskirk denied touching the girl in any inappropriate way, the report said. Buskirk was arrested on a warrant and taken to Johnson County jail, where he was held on $16,000 bond.

He faces three to 16 years on the felony child molestation charge, under Indiana sentencing guidelines.
