Colin David Contos

ANDERSON

Colin David Contos, 50, died in Anderson, on Sunday, April 9, 2017. His life on Earth was too brief, yet those who loved him believe that he is now safe and at peace.

Colin’s children Chloe, Claire and Carson Contos were the light of his life. They were his favorite topic and greatest joy.

Colin was born on April 18, 1966 to Larry and Louann Contos, who survive. Also surviving are sisters Courtney Contos and Meredith Contos-Brooks and their husbands, Jason Smith and Steven Brooks.

He loved his nieces and nephews, Maitland Contos McCord, Cade Contos McCord, Landan Contos McCord, Aidan Contos Smith and Maya Contos Brooks. Colin will be missed by extended family and friends — uncles, R. Wyatt Weaver, Kim Contos and Bob Weaver, and aunt, Barbra Fyock; cousins, Heather Ramsey, Ashley Taylor, Cara Dykson, Casey Contos, Becky Seiler, Peggy Shreiber, Wyatt Weaver, Jennifer Weaver, Jeffrey Weaver, Grant Fyock, Gretchen Fyock Hamilton, Sierra Weaver and Jonathon Weaver. Lifelong friends, Kirk Hornocker and Phil Boeglin will honor Colin’s spirit forever.

Colin graduated from Anderson High School in 1984.

He enjoyed playing varsity tennis and was known as the “Iceman.” (Wimblestreet really happened, and it was even funnier than we remember.)

Colin earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington. He was a proud member of Theta Chi Alpha Iota Chapter, IU.

He worked in the family business, Pay Less Super Markets Inc. until its sale in 2000. He was an active member of Contos Enterprises.

At Colin’s request, services will be private.

Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to: The Watershed Foundation (Tippecanoewatershed.org), and The IU Foundation (myiu.org)

Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory has been entrusted with Colin’s arrangements.
