Ceremony to take aim at child abuse

A ceremony to raise awareness and prevention of child abuse will take place Tuesday in downtown Franklin.

The ceremony, hosted by Prevent Child Abuse Johnson County, will include a display of pinwheel toys, which represent safety and health in childhood. The event features Greenwood’s Mayor Mark Myers and entertainment by Style Dance Academy. The event will go on rain or shine.

The event coincides with national Child Abuse Prevention Month and will be at 6 p.m. on the courthouse lawn, 5 E. Jefferson St., Franklin.

The ceremony is free and open to the public.
