Edna Jean “Jeannie” Wolff

FRANKLIN

Edna Jean “Jeannie” Wolff, 91, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Franklin United Methodist Community in Franklin.

She was born June 9, 1925 in Danville. Her parents were William Leslie Zimmerman and Lou Edna (Long) Zimmerman.

She married Dr. Charles L. Wolff on March 25, 1951 in Danville; he survives.

She was a graduate of Danville High School, attended Central Normal College in Danville and was a graduate of Butler University.

She had been an elementary school teacher at Payne and Southside elementary schools in Franklin.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Victory Christian Church in Franklin, P.E.O., Daughters of the American Revolution and Matinee Musicale.

She loved to sing, sew, work with flowers and play the piano. She especially loved entertaining and hosting many people over the years; she dearly enjoyed hospitality.

Her Christ-centered values that she guided her life by and passed on to her family were most important to her.

She and her husband were former residents of Rotonda, Florida for 17 years.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Charles L. Wolff of Franklin; a daughter, LouAnne Wheeler (Garry) of Franklin; three grandchildren, Abbie Kay Herschell of Indianapolis, Katie Anne Herschell of Nashville, Tennessee and Elliot Lincoln Wolff (Jennifer) of Hampton, Tennessee; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son William Leslie “Les” Wolff on Dec. 25, 2001; a grandson, Bryan Philip Wolff on Nov. 27, 2005; and two brothers, John Long and Harold Long.

Pastor Rick Davis will conduct a service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
