Big Band on Broadway

The Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra will pay tribute to some of the best sounds of musical theater with the Big Band on Broadway show April 11.

The show will start at 7 p.m. at the Jazz Kitchen, 5377 N. College Ave., Indianapolis.

The orchestra and outstanding vocalists will present a big band salute to the best songs of the musical theater, featuring music from the greatest Broadway shows in history, including that of Rogers and Hammerstein, Jerome Kern, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Wine, Cheese and All That Jazz

Johnson County Historical Society’s annual Wine, Cheese, and All That Jazz fundraiser is set for Saturday at the Johnson County Museum of History.

The event is slated 6:30 to 9 p.m., and guests can try wines from local wineries, cheeses from Vino Villa in Greenwood and enjoy live jazz by Jaden St. Jazz. There also will be a silent auction with local gifts available.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at the museum or online for $35 ($30 for members), or at the event for $40.

All proceeds benefit the Johnson County Historical Society, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit.
