A Franklin man was ejected from his vehicle after he swerved to miss hitting a deer.
Elijah J. Kellem, 22, was driving south on Hurricane Road from Whiteland Road about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday when he swerved to miss a deer, according to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
He was taken to a hospital with internal injuries after being thrown from the vehicle, but no update on his condition was available on Wednesday.
Kellem’s vehicle had gone off the roadway and steered back onto the roadway to try to get control, and the report also cited speed as a factor in the crash. The car rolled over and came to rest in a field. Some mailboxes were destroyed, the report said.
