Boys track and field

Franklin dominates Shelbyville

The Franklin boys rolled past Shelbyville 94-38 in a dual meet Tuesday.

Travis Murr racked up three first-place finishes, winning the 100-meter dash, the 200 and the long jump. Nickolas Riggles swept the 110 and 300 hurdles, while Chandler McGaha was also a double winner in the 800 and 1,600 meters.

Scoring additional individual victories for Franklin were Tyler Fromer (400), Joshua Campbell (3,200), Payton Utterback (pole vault), Manny Cheam (discus) and Cole Bellmore (shot put). The Grizzly Cubs also won the 4×800 relay.

Girls track and field

Grizzly Cubs win opener

The Franklin girls won their first meet of the season against Shelbyville on Tuesday, 71-60.

Kloie Doublin (100-meter dash), Emma Beavins (400) and Ally Parramore (300 hurdles) each won individual events for the Grizzly Cubs, and those three teamed with Maggie Auger on the winning 4×400 relay. Auger was also on Franklin’s victorious 4×800 relay team with Emma Treibic, Carly Sandrock and Chloe Selking.

Selking (800), Sydnee Tran (shot put), Rachel Simmons (high jump) and Megan Woods (100 hurdles) also contributed individual first-place finishes.

Boys volleyball

No. 10 Franklin sweeps Brownsburg

The Franklin boys volleyball team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 25-23, 25-14, 25-23 sweep of Brownsburg on Tuesday night.
