Research you home through library museum

These days, more and more people are interested in learning about the past — everything from genealogical research to local history is gaining in popularity.

Now homeowners can explore how their own homes became a part of the scene.

Residents who are restoring or living in older homes can now research the history of their abodes with new research tools. The history collections at the Johnson County Public Library and the Johnson County Museum of History make sleuthing for clues about your house history a fun hobby.

The library is hosting a new discussion group just for house histories. The group meets the first Monday of every month. The next meeting is at 6 p.m. April 3 at the Franklin library, 401 State St.

Read more about tools and information about the group on the library’s website: pageafterpage.org.
