Leelah Frances (McClain) Williams

Leelah Frances (McClain) Williams, 93, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017, in Franklin.

She was born on May 17, 1923, in Urmeyville, to her parents, James and Nema (Hommel) McClain.

Lellah and Eldon were married in Bargersville on July 9, 1965.

She liked working for Morgans Packing Co., in the lab. She enjoyed doing yard work and gardening, especially flowers and putting on wonderful holiday meals. She loved being outdoors.

Lellah collected angels and loved singing in the church choir. She was the song leader at the Needham Community Church.

Lellah is survived by her husband, Eldon Williams of Franklin; two children, Patricia Burton and Robert “Bobby” W. Smith, both of Franklin; four grandchildren, Vicki (David) Buck, Kim VanMet, and Dennis Burton, all of Franklin, and Jodie (Mike) Lawson of Rushville; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service is being conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Jessen Funeral Home, Franklin Chapel, 197 E. Jefferson St., Franklin. The family is hosting a visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the servic at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
