FRANKLIN
Mintie Lucille Conner, 94, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born Jan. 30, 1923, in Kentucky to Jim and Lilly Mae (Bell) McWhorter.
She married William E. Conner on July 6, 1940. He preceded her in passing.
Mintie is survived by one daughter, Mintie (Ray) Retherford of Chillicothe, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Conner of Franklin; grandchildren, Barbara (Dr. Terry) Nelson, Brian (Gina) Conner, Darrell Conner and Todd (Sarah) Conner; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband, William; one infant son; one infant daughter; and siblings, Maedrew McWhorter, James P. McWhorter and Jessie Leonard McWhorter.
Mintie was employed by Varyinet Mills in Franklin for many years. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Janie’s Nursing Home in Franklin and later at the Franklin United Methodist Community, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of Franklin First Assembly of God in Franklin.
Pastor Phillip Curtis will conduct a celebration of Mintie’s life at 1 p.m. Friday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St. (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
