Show choirs do well in competition

Several show choirs competed at central Indiana events during the weekend and earned top honors.

Whiteland Community High School’s jazz choir, Shades of Blue, competed at the Indiana State School Music Association state finals in Plainfield. The group received caption awards for Best Soprano Section and Best Bass Section, and was named the State Jazz Vocal Honor Ensemble.

Marianne Marten was named Outstanding Female Solo and Aidan Strain won Outstanding Male Solo.

Sensations at Franklin Community High School received fourth in the Unisex Division. Heritage Singers placed third.

Center Grove High School choirs performed at Butler Sing, which is a showcase, this weekend.
