Woman injured in parking lot hit-and-run

An 82-year-old woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident while walking across a Franklin parking lot on Friday afternoon.

Hazel Goad, of Franklin, was walking across the city parking lot between Jefferson, Water and Monroe streets when a red car backed up and hit her about 2:45 p.m., knocking Goad to the ground, a Franklin Police Department report said.

Goad had a bump above her eye, a cut on her nose, and scraped hands and knees. She was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital for treatment, the report said.

No witnesses saw the car hit her, and police are looking to see if any security cameras in the area caught either the crash or suspect vehicle, the report said.
