Lane closures coming to Franklin streets

Construction crews will start work today to move gas lines at a busy Franklin intersection.

On Monday, motorists should expect lane closures at King and Forsythe streets as workers from Vectren and Miller Pipeline remove existing gas lines and install new lines, according to a news release from the city. One lane will remain open at all times, but motorists should be prepared to stop and wait for flaggers.

Lane closures will last through Wednesday, then workers will move into the right-of-way through the end of the month.

Today, workers will begin making cuts in the road, but no street closures are expected, the news release said. The city is in the midst of a four-year construction project to rebuild Jefferson and King streets from U.S. 31 to Eastview Drive.
