Daniel Martin Myers

INDIANAPOLIS

Daniel Martin Myers, 87, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 14, 2017.

Mr. Myers was born Sept. 23, 1929, in Indianapolis, to the late Wilbur and Anna (Galm) Myers.

He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1947 and from the Parks College of Engineering at St. Louis University in 1951. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserves during the Korean War. Mr. Myers worked 38 years for the Allison Division of General Motors as an aeronautical engineer, retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church and the Msgr. M. Downey Council 3660 Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Marie Myers.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Anne (Hoereth) Myers; children, Michael (Jeanne), James (Nancy), Clare, and Andrew (Becky) Myers, Mary (Paul) Sheets, Laura (Erick) Heinrich and Joan (Joe) Bellitto; 19 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Daniel F. O’Riley Funeral Home, 6107 S. East St. (US Hwy. 31 South), where morning prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m., Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, in St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
