Dorothy M. “Dottie” (Waltman) Goble

Dorothy M. “Dottie” (Waltman) Goble, 75, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, March 14, 2017, at her home in Morgantown.

She was born March 10, 1942, in Brown County, to her parents, the late Myron and Opal (Mead) Waltman.

She was a 1959 graduate of Helmsburg High School and went on to retire in 2003 from the logistics department of the Indiana State Police in Indianapolis after 32 years of service.

Dottie married Robert E. “Bob” Goble on June 30, 1979, in Brown County. He lovingly survives after 37 years of marriage.

She is also survived by her children, Michael John (Tracy) Brester of Brown County, Mark Joseph (Kim) Brester of Franklin; stepchildren, Scott and Jace (Becky) Goble, both of Shelby County, Lori Weile of Hudson, Florida; siblings, Lee (Lois) Waltman of Brown County and Gene (Kim) Waltman of Prince’s Lakes; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Waltman.

Dottie was an active member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church and the Morgantown Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority.

She loved her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and playing with her great-grandchildren. Dottie also enjoyed working in her flower gardens and bird watching.

The Rev. Ann Spahr will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom.
