Gala raised more than $120,000

A local gala raised more than $120,000 to help behavioral and mental health care in the county.

Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation’s gala raised the money, doubling the foundation’s original fundraising goal of $60,000.

Proceeds from the gala will be used to help fund greater access to mental and behavioral health care in Johnson County.

“Mental health issues are frequently the root cause of many other medical and socioeconomic issues,” said Larry Heydon, president and CEO of Johnson Memorial Health. “By providing greater access to mental health care, Johnson Memorial Hospital can better impact related medical issues and enable our community to eventually impact problems such as drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.”
