FRANKLIN
Jerry L. Morris, 83, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017.
He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Knox County, to Virgil and Ella (Gibbs) Morris.
He married Barbara A. (Scharbrough) Morris on Sept. 11, 1954, in Indianapolis; she survives.
He was retired as a tool and die maker and manager for Chrysler in Indianapolis for 36 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of Gracepoint Church in Whiteland, Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107 and United Auto Workers Union.
He enjoyed camping, boating, the outdoors and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. (Scharbrough) Morris of Franklin; his children, Gregory L. Morris (Victoria) of Franklin, Pamela A. Kile (Jim) of Vero Beach, Florida, and David A. Morris (Sharon) of Indianapolis; two sisters, Elaine Morris of Columbus, and Anna Lea Meagher (Jerry) of Phoenix, Arizona; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Leon Morris and Robert Morris.
A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) with Franklin Masonic Lodge No. 107 and the Rev. Zack Scellato conducting. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the mortuary.
