WHITELAND
Dorothy Jean (Bailey) Burnell, 89, of Whiteland, died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Morning Pointe in Franklin.
She is survived by her children, Ike W.P. (Yon) Burnell of Greenwood, Donna “Babe” Francis of Indianapolis, Sue Shirrel of Mooresville, Mary (Roger) Clarkson of Whiteland, and Beth (Steve) Ent of Indianapolis; one sister, Mary Harrell of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace “Wally” A. Burnell; and a son, Charlie Burnell.
Rev. Dan Bradley is conducting a celebration of life service at noon on Thursday at the Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North. The family will be hosting a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Greenwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Johnson County, 3827 N. Graham Road, Franklin, IN 46131.
