Local high school show and concert choirs receive awards in regional competition

Local show and concert choirs snagged top spots at regional competitions.

Center Grove’s varsity concert choir, CG Singers, was named Grand Champions in the Concert Choir division at the Heart of America Chicago competition.

The group also earned caption awards for Best Choral Tone and Best Repertoire.

The Heritage Singers and Sensations Show Choir and Band of Franklin Community High School received their highest placement of the year at a competition in Ohio.

Both groups placed second in their division and the Heritage Singers placed second overall.

Franklin choir’s show band was named Best Band.

Hezekiah Johnson was named Heritage’s Best Performer and Jordan Kasuboski was named Sensation’s Best Performer.

Shades of Blue at Whiteland Community High School received Gold with Distinction at the Indiana State School Music Association Vocal Jazz State qualification in Brownsburg.

Whiteland vocal jazz soloists Marianne Marten, Aidan Strain, and Eric Robinson received Distinguished Soloists awards.
