Local music groups competed at invitationals over the weekend.
The Irish Guard at Greenwood Community High School earned a berth to the Indiana High School Color Guard Association semi finals this weekend.
Indian Creek High School’s color guard placed 12th and 25th at preliminary competition in Mooresville.
Franklin Community High School’s indoor drum line placed third in Scholastic A at Zionsville High School. The school’s color guard did not compete.
Greenwood’s jazz ensemble received a gold rating in group 1 at the Indiana High School Music Association jazz festival.
The Center Grove High School jazz band received a gold rating at the jazz festival. Nathan Rakes and Noah Smelser received outstanding soloist awards.
