Marta Rodenhuis, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017.
Marta was born June 2, 1926, in Wartena, Holland, to the late Jan and Sjoukje deVries Meester. She married Everett Rodenhuis on Jan. 11, 1950, and they immigrated to America, arriving May 11, 1950. Everett preceded her in death May 11, 2001.
Marta worked at Brookville Road Animal Clinic for 15 years, retiring in 1987, and was a member of Pleasant Valley Christian Church.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 1 to the 2 p.m. service time Monday at Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, 3333 E. Thompson Road, Indianapolis.
Marta is survived by two children, Terrence Lee Rodenhuis (Sheri Layn) and Patty Ann Hildebrand (Curtis); six grandchildren, Maria Hildebrand, Christy Hildebrand, Brandi Warren (Daniel), Taylor Rodenhuis, Alexis Hildebrand and Jacob Hildebrand; and seven great-grandchildren.
Her sister, Tina vanSteinvoren, preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions in Marta’s memory are suggested to the Alzheimers Association.
