Christ Our Shepherd Church of the Brethren, 857 N. State Road 135, Greenwood, will host a retired U.S. Navy jet pilot during the church’s veterans dinner and program on March 12.
The meal will start at 5 p.m., and the talk at 6 p.m.
All military veterans, active duty members, spouses and surviving spouses of veterans are welcome.
John Kindred was in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1999.
He logged over 3,500Â flight hours and over 780 carrier landings. He flew 23 combat missions in support of Operations Southern Watch over Iraq and was selected as one of top 10 pilots in Air Wing. He served at the China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center, California and was a Military Deputy Advised Director in military affairs and directed civilian personnel in weapons systems development and procurement, administration and security.
