GREENWOOD
Samuel L. Pearson, 67, Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Born June 16, 1949, in Martinsville, to the late Donovan Pearson and Frances Nadine Pearson, he graduated from Martinsville High School in 1966. He retired after a 37-year tenure career at Eli Lilly in December 2008.
Sam enjoyed fishing, golfing, shooting guns and most of all he cherished time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Janet (Acker) Pearson; children, Matt Pearson (Angie) and Ashley Pearson (Craig Stutler); grandchildren, Landon Pearson, Grayson Stutler and Olivia Pearson; and a brother, Donovan (Debbie) Pearson.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Champlin.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, followed by the funeral at 3 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health or a humane society of your choice.
