Pedestrian hit, injured at intersection

A woman was hit by a car and injured early Tuesday in Franklin.

Angela York, 47, of Franklin, was driving at the intersection of Branigin Boulevard and Monroe Street in Franklin at 6:38 p.m. Tuesday when she rolled through a stop sign, striking pedestrian, Jackie L. Thomas, 56, of Franklin.

Thomas was knocked down by the vehicle and reported a fractured or dislocated leg or foot, according to a report from the Franklin Police Department.

York told police she saw Thomas after rolling through the stop sign and hit her brakes, but hydroplaned and struck her, the report said.

Poor weather conditions and darkness contributed to the crash, according to the report.
