White River firefighters, staff honored

The White River Township Fire Department recently honored several staff and crew members for outstanding service to the community and the department.

The awards were presented during an annual recognition banquet on Feb. 17 at the Barn at Bay Horse Inn.

The 2016 White River Township Fire Department Awards include the following:

  • EMT of the Year: Eric Brown
  • Paramedic of the Year: Nathan Poff
  • Firefighter of the Year: Logan Kerr
  • Officer of the Year: Capt. Jeffrey Smith
  • Employee of the Year: Jennifer Pieper

The fire department protects approximately 26 square miles in the Center Grove area, including the State Road 135 corridor and State Road 37, which includes approximately 28,000 residents.
