Thelma D. Sharp

EDINBURGH

Thelma D. Sharp, 89, of Edinburgh, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin.

She was born on Oct. 26, 1927, at Russell Springs, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Fred and Eula (Price) McKinney.

She is survived by her sons, Elvis E. (Millie) Gaskin and Curtis E. Sharp, both of Edinburgh; daughter, Deborah “Debe” Baughman of Kendallville; brother, Joe (Mary) McKinney of Nineveh; grandchildren, Angie Gaskin, Rob Gaskin, Stephanie Sharp, Crystal Sharp, Dustin Sharp, Elizabeth Sharp, Josh Burton, Shane Burton and Denisea Nelson; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Michael N. Sharp and Charles L. Sharp; brothers, James F. McKinney, Chester R. McKinney and Bill McKinney; and sisters, Delores McKinney and Carol Sue McKinney Ballenger .

She retired after more than 40 years of service from Arvin Industries in Franklin.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers and playing Rook.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Tom Knight at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
