Virginia Anna (Pierce) Clark

FRANKLIN

Virginia Anna (Pierce) Clark, 90, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Homeview and Rehabilitation in Franklin.

She was born Oct. 27, 1926, in East Hartford, Connecticut, to Glenn and Helen (Loomis) Pierce.

She married John Jay Clark on Aug. 7, 1948; he preceded her in death on May 26, 2004. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Franklin and the Franklin Senior Center and enjoyed quilting and playing cards.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her son, David Alan Clark of Franklin; daughter, Amy Diane Posz (Tom) of New Albany; a sister, Elizabeth Stanley (Walter) of Glastonbury, Connecticut; four grandchildren, Katie Butler (Reba Collins), Philip Clark, Danielle Clark and Tel’Lee Clark; three great-grandchildren, Brayleigh Emma Nicole Butler, Jax Andrew Bourland and Luke Michael Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Glenn Pierce Jr.; and sisters, Marion Cosgrove and Judy Brooks.

The Rev. Fred Brown will conduct a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church, 1600 Westview Drive, Franklin.

Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 S. U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin is handling the arrangements.
