Joseph Aaron “Joe” Hutchison, 66, passed away at his home in Greenwood on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017.

Joe is survived by his loving children, Joseph “Aaron” Hutchison Jr. and Shawna Elizabeth Hutchison. Joe has two wonderful grandchildren, Aaron David “Tyler” Hutchison and Reese Elizabeth Hutchison.

He is survived by his brother, Jack Edward Hutchison, and sisters, Judith Blackburn, Rebecca V. Moore and Sandra K. Wendell. Sandy was a devoted sister and loving caregiver during his last days.

Joe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Teresa L. Hutchison, and parents, William Vearl and Stella Elizabeth Hutchison. Joe also leaves behind 12 loving nieces and nephews.

Joe was a pipe fitter and union man his entire career.

He was a devoted member of the American Legion and the Boats Owners Association of the United States. Joe was an avid boats man and enjoyed life on the open water with his wife and family.

He was a retired band leader and an accomplished drummer. He was a decorated Marine who served his country with pride during the Vietnam war.

All who knew Joe loved him for his gentle heart, warm smile and kind eyes.

Joe was a devoted family man and a proud American that the Lord has now called home. May you have fair winds and following seas. God speed dad, we love you.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St., with calling from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery immediately following the service.
