Pauline Hazel Martlage

Pauline Hazel Martlage, 86, Greenwood passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017.

Born Dec. 25, 1930, in Indianapolis, she was a 1948 graduate of the old Manual High School. It was there where she met the love of her life, Ronald F. Martlage, and they celebrated 68 years of marriage together. She enjoyed dancing, square dancing, crafts, collecting teddy bears and watching Animal Planet and football. She was active in the Garfield Park Dance Club, the Red Hat Society and her Bunko Club.

Her biggest passion was her family. She and Ron enjoyed traveling in retirement together on cruises. She raised six children and created a home with many loving memories.

Once her children left home, Pauline drove a bus for Perry Township Schools for 15 years.

They were members of Rosedale Hills United Methodist Church and regularly attended Mt. Pleasant Christian Church.

She will be loved and missed by her husband, Ronald; children, Rick Allen Martlage, Deborah Sue Charrlin (David), Gary Lee Martlage (Courtney), Pamela Frances Burris (David), Ronald Francis Martlage (Patty), Brian Ray Martlage (Cheryl); 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Harlan Dillahay.

Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with an additional hour of visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
