2 injured in I-65 crash near County Line Road

A Bloomington man is in good condition after firefighters had to cut him free from his van after a crash on Interstate 65.

Eddie Edds, 38, was driving a van in the left lane of southbound I-65 at about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday between Main Street and County Line Road in Greenwood. A semi without a trailer driven by Dale Kuhn, 65, of Whiteland, changed lanes and Edds’ van struck the back of the semi. The van overturned and slid for about 500 yards, according to Indiana State Police.

Edds, who was not wearing his seat belt, was trapped in the van. The Greenwood Fire Department took 10 minutes to cut him free of the vehicle.

He was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital and was listed in good condition Friday afternoon, a hospital spokesperson said.

Kuhn was taken to Franciscan Health Indianapolis. An update on his condition was not available Friday.
