Man reports robbery after online encounter

A Greenwood man told police he was taken to Indianapolis and robbed by a woman he met online and four others.

Greenwood police were called to an apartment in the 600 block of Wooddale Terrace just after 9:30 p.m. Monday. A  resident told police he had met a woman on social media, and the two had been messaging for about a week, and she asked for his address, according to the Greenwood police report.

He gave it to her, and she came to his apartment, along with another woman and three men. They held a gun to his head and forced him into a vehicle and drove him to Indianapolis. They took his wallet, cellphone, credit card and his pants and left him there, he told police.

The resident could not describe the men to police, nor the vehicle they were driving. He also was unsure of the name of the woman he met on social media, the report said.
