Willard “Mac” Ray McAdams

INDIANAPOLIS

Willard “Mac” Ray McAdams, 87, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017.

He was born on May 30, 1929, in Scottsville, Kentucky, to the late Virgil and Etta York McAdams.

Mac married Gladys “Hap” Zook on June 18, 1966, in Indianapolis.

He was employed as a service technician for General Electric for over 30 years, retiring in 1985.

Mac was a life member of VFW Greenwood No. 5864, Whiteland VFW No. 6978, and Greenwood American Legion No. 252.

He was an avid pool player and enjoyed all forms of motorsports, racing flat track motorcycles in the 1940s.

Mac is survived by his grandchildren, Brad DeWitt, Christa (Anthony) DeWitt Calderone, Angela (Dennis) Jamison Fecker, Stephani Williamson Rodriguez, Chaston (Amy) Rooks; son-in-law, John Williamson; adopted grandchildren, Niki, Breann, Trynton and Zakaraya Williamson; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife; daughters, Joy Durnil Dugger and Debra McAdams Williamson; sisters, Helen McAdams and Faye Douglas; and brother Ralph McAdams.

Services for Mac will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis. Visitation will be noon until the time of service on Friday at the mortuary. Interment will follow with military honors at Greenwood Cemetery. Mac requested in lieu of flowers that friends celebrate his life by toasting his memory.
