EDINBURGH
Johnny Dale “J.D.” Barker, 41, of Edinburgh, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, in Pendleton.
He was born Oct. 28, 1975, in Galveston, Texas. He was the son of Johnie M. and Freida (Luttrell) Barker.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Debby Barker of Edinburgh; brothers, Johnnie A. Barker of Hope and Larry Barker of Huntsville, Texas; a half-brother, Loren Powers of Texas; stepbrother, Jeremy Betz of Jasper; sisters, Jennifer Hommel (Cameron) Greenwood of Sheridan, Johnna Banki of Edinburgh, Kim (Shannon) McMahon of Edinburgh, Lisa Barker of Indianapolis, Trish Hernandez of Texas and Amanda (Nathan) Goen of Edinburgh; stepsister, Tonya Price of Indianapolis; best friend, Chad Heagy of Franklin; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
He was a member of the Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle. He was baptized in the name of Jesus in July 2008.
He enjoyed fishing, dirt bike riding, instigating mischief, and his dogs, Vic and Sydney.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Revs. Mark Myers and Nathan Goen at Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
