Eighteen swimmers honored

Franklin College had a slew of swimmers named to the Liberal Arts All-Championship team after a dominating performance at last weekend’s meet. Eighteen Grizzlies were honored in all.

Karlee Demsey and Regina Solik led the way with six individual All-Championship team recognitions for the Grizzly women. They were joined by Haley Blaich, Mackenzie Dwyer, Kaitlin Mans, Amy McCormick and Sarah Taylor.

Graman new men’s soccer coach

Cody Graman, an assistant coach with the Franklin men’s soccer team the past three seasons, was announced as the Grizzlies’ new head coach on Thursday.

The 2011 Franklin College graduate replaces Shaun Mahoney, who resigned in December to become executive director of the St. Francis soccer league in Indianapolis.

Graman has also been a head coach for South Central Soccer Academy teams and has served on the board of directors for Greenfield Area Soccer Club.

“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to come back and coach at Franklin,” Graman said in a statement. “After playing here for four years, and being on staff for three years, I know the program that Coach Mahoney has developed, and I am honored to be taking over and working to take this program to the next level.”
