Women’s hoop comeback bid falls short

Down by as many as 14, the Franklin College women’s basketball team staged a late rally but wound up with a 67-64 defeat at Transylvania University on Wednesday night.

A basket by Mandy Fisher briefly put the Grizzlies on top 64-63 with 41 seconds left to play, but the Pioneers regained the lead at the foul line and held on in the closing moments.
