Jack L. Cardwell

GREENWOOD

Jack L. Cardwell, 84, a devoted husband and dedicated father, of Greenwood, passed away at Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis on Jan. 30, 2017.

Jack Cardwell, originally from Jefferson City, Missouri, moved to Greenwood in 1968 with his wife and four children.

Jack studied at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.

He was a member of the Missouri National Guard until entering the service as a cadet in the U.S. Air Force.

Jack has been described as a highly-diversified person with a wide variety of interests that made him a true universal man. He will be remembered for his quick wit and dynamic personality that made him successful in sales throughout his life. He loved the outdoors and was active with the Boy Scouts of America.

Jack is survived by his children, Jenny Williams, Julie (Dickie) Dhondt, Vincent (Carmelita) Cardwell and Steve (Shawn) Cardwell; sister, Tawn (Hunt) Kinkead; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Cardwell, who passed Dec. 1, 2014.

A celebration of life gathering will be conducted from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Services and Crematory, The Walker Cottage Family Center, 475 W. Main St., Greenwood.
